This is the meaning of the word in the nodal context. For the browser-based session, see Wikipedia's article
A session is a Node (nodeSESSION) representing a period of time over which a Workspace is active, ie. it is a runtime instance of an interface environment. It is related to a particular user or group of users or peers and to a particular set of data bandwidth (streams), storage and processing resources. Usually these attributes are fixed for the duration of the session.
